A community for those who menstruate to share, learn, teach, rant and support one another.

Well, here we are: a blog. A blog about periods, period pain, uteruses, living with a uterus, dealing with all the crap we get for HAVING a uterus, and so much more. I’ve toyed with the idea of a blog for years and years, and I could never find something I was passionate enough about to continuously keep writing on that I also thought people would be interested in. Enter - Pain With Me.

Periods and everything around the uterus have always been of interest to me. I’ve always been open about it and open about my pain, though I’ve realized in the last few years that it was only to an extent. We were all brought up with the notion that periods are “personal” and “not to be talked about in public”. Even further, so many people have said “periods are gross”, and I guess that that stuck with me for a very long time. As it did with so many others, hence why we never had a space to talk openly about periods. I want to break the stigma around talking about periods, talking about pain. I want to normalize having conversations about periods and uterine pain because so many people worldwide are affected by it. Period poverty, period access, and period education are all ignored yet are the reality for so many - why are we not talking about it?

Hands hovering before touching

Goal with PWM That’s the goal with Pain With Me, to create a space, a community where we can talk, discuss, and share about periods and period pain. Where we can teach and learn about things we weren’t taught in school or by our families and peers and hopefully change that reality for the younger generations. A place where we can support charities, programs and nonprofits that assist folks worldwide when it comes to periods.

"We were all brought up with the notion that periods are 'personal ' and 'not to be talked about in public'. ”

Everyone has a voice here

This community is centered around love, acceptance and inclusion. It will focus on folks who menstruate, no matter their gender and how people identify. Because the reality is, so many of us don’t know enough about our own damn bodies and it shouldn’t be separated by gender, pronouns or personal preference. Your body is your body, you get to choose who you want to be and you should have access to information, support and acceptance, no matter what your choice is. This is an LGBTQIA+ friendly space and at Pain With Me we are allies to the community. We support all those who menstruate, no matter their background, languages spoken, identification and whereabouts - everyone has a voice.

And remember, don't be a uterbitch - be a uterpartner.
